Celebrating 50 Years!

Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center is grateful to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2026—a half-century of welcoming people into a sacred space for rest, reflection, hope, healing, and a deeper relationship with God. Rooted in the charism of the Sisters of Providence, Genesis offers retreats, spiritual direction, workshops, contemplative programs, opportunities for prayer and renewal, and programs that invite care for creation and connection with the natural beauty of the Providence Arboretum. We are pleased to mark this milestone with our upcoming Wine Tasting Fundraiser on September 4, an evening of fellowship in support of Genesis and its continuing mission.

As we celebrate, we offer heartfelt gratitude to our founders, Sister Elizabeth Oleksak, SP, and Sister Ruth McGoldrick, SP. Sister Elizabeth, who established Genesis in 1976 and served as its administrator and executive director for many years, helped create the spiritually nourishing and ecologically mindful foundation that continues to guide us. We also remember Sister Ruth, who passed away this February after 72 years of religious life; her wisdom, theological depth, gentle presence, and commitment were deeply woven into Genesis from its earliest days. Their vision and faithful leadership remain a beautiful gift to our community and to all who come to Genesis seeking renewal and hope.

Please join us on September 4 as we raise a glass in gratitude for 50 years of Genesis and help sustain this sacred place of welcome, renewal, and spiritual growth for generations to come.

Our Annual Wine Tasting allows us to pause and take an evening to spend time with friends and connect with neighbors. Proceeds from the Wine Tasting enable us to continue our mission of hope and healing and to help with the upkeep of our beautiful grounds. Join us 6:30pm-8:30pm.
