Gathering Fall’s Harvest

Summer’s abundance gives way to fall and we notice the days growing shorter. Ecologically, the natural world begins preparing for the coming winter, and this reminds us it is time to sort our harvest, keeping what we need and shedding that which no longer serves. The harvest time also reminds us of the importance of community and building resilience for the coming winter.

For this retreat we join as a community to experience nature in new ways and learn from wisdom teachers across traditions. Like these teachers, we look to nature and Spirit as our guides, asking “How might I prepare for autumn and the coming winter? What needs sorting in my life? How am I preparing spiritually for the changing seasons?” Using guided meditations, prayer, praise, nature exploration, silent reflection, storytelling, and ceremony we weave together practices of contemplation and action. Preparing for harvest means remaining resilient in troubled times while sharing with each other for the common good.
