Celebrating Summer’s Abundance: Nurturing Joy
With Colleen Mollica and Cary Gaunt
June 1, 2024
The world comes alive in summer—gardens are blossoming and bearing fruit, children play, and many of us feel freer as the days grow longer and warmer. As the hours of light increase towards their peak at the summer solstice, nature is also at its peak vitality and fertility. Nature is profligate and all our senses are fully alive. We have made it through our spiritual winter and the renewal of our spiritual spring and now we can find joy in summer’s fertile time of abundance.
We will join in community to learn from wisdom teachers across traditions. Like these teachers, we look to nature and Spirit as our guides, asking “What does this summer season mean to me and to Earth, our common home? Where do I see abundance in my own life? How can I nurture joy in a troubled world?” Using guided meditations, prayer, praise, nature exploration, silent reflection, storytelling, and ceremony we weave together practices of contemplation and action.
